THE BANKRUPTCY (AMENDMENT) RULES 1975

The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 132 of the Bankruptcy Act 1914(a) and with the concurrence of the Secretary of State for Trade, hereby makes the following Rules:-
.
1.-(1) These Rules may be cited as the Bankruptcy (Amendment) Rules 1975 and shall come into operation on 1st April 1975.
(2) The Interpretation Act 1889(b) shall apply to the interpretation of these Rules as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.
2. For rule 70 of the Bankruptcy Rules 1952(c), as amended (d), there shall be substituted the following rule:-
“70.-The fees of the shorthand writer shall be paid by the party at whose instance the appointment was made or out of the estate, as the court may direct, at such a rate as may be fixed by the Minister for the Civil Service.”

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This Note is not part of the Rules)
These Rules amend the Bankruptcy Rules 1952 by removing from rule 70 the scale of fees payable to shorthand writers for attending the court and making transcripts.
