(AMENDMENT) ACT
NO. 26 OF 1998

An Act to amend the Parliament (Members' Expenses And Allowances Act [CAP. 109].

BE IT ENACTED by the President and Parliament as follows:-

AMENDMENT OF SECTION 4 OF CHAPTER 109

1. Section 4 of the Parliament (Members' Expenses And Allowances) Act [CAP. 109] is amended :

(a) in subsection (1) by deleting "3,000" and substituting "5,000" appearing throughout that subsection; and

(ab) in subsection (3) by deleting “10,000” and substituting “17,000”; and

(b) in subsection (3) by deleting "17,000" and substituting "34,000".

COMMENCEMENT

2. This Act commences on the 1^st day of January 1999, except paragraph 1(ab) which is taken to have commenced on 1^st April 1992.
