NATIONAL TOURISM OFFICE (AMENDMENT) ACT
NO. 34 OF 2005

An Act to amend the National Tourism Office Act [CAP 142].

Be it enacted by the President and Parliament as follows-

1. Amendments
   

The National Tourism Office Act [CAP 142] is amended as set out in the Schedule.

2. Commencement
   

This Act commences on the day on which it is published in the Gazette.

SCHEDULE

AMENDMENTS OF THE NATIONAL TOURISM
OFFICE ACT [CAP 142]

1 Subsection 5(1)

Repeal the subsection, substitute

“5. (1) The Office shall consist of 15 members.

(1A) The Boards of the following industry associations and organisations shall each appoint a representative to be a member of the Office:

(a) Vanuatu Hotel and Resorts Association;

(b) Vanuatu Chamber of Commerce and Industry;

(c) Vanuatu Island Bungalows Association;

(d) Vanuatu Tour Operators Association;

(e) Vanuatu Scuba Operators Association;

(f) Air Vanuatu (operations) Ltd; and

(g) Vanair Limited.

(1B) In addition to subsection 1(1A) the Minister shall appoint the following persons to be members of the Office:

(a) a representative of the Ministry;

(b) the chairman of the Santo Tourism Association;

(c) the President of the Tafea Tourism Council;

(d) the Director of the National Tourism Development Office;

(e) a representative of the Malampa Province;

(f) a representative of the Penama Province;

(g) a representative of the Torba Province.”

2 Subsection 5(3A)

Repeal the subsection.
