(AMENDMENT) ACT
NO. 8 OF 1994

An Act to extend the Civil Jurisdiction of Magistrate’s Court.

BE IT ENACTED by the President and Parliament as follows: -

AMENDMENT OF SECTION 1 OF CHAPTER 130

1. Section 1 of the Magistrate’s Court (Civil Jurisdiction) Act [CAP. 130] is amended -
   
   • (a) in paragraph (a) by deleting the figure "200,000" and substituting the figure "1,000,000"; and
     
   • (b) in paragraph (b) by deleting the figure "500,000" and substituting the figure "2,000,000".
     

COMMENCEMENT

2. This Act shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.
