REPUBLIC OF VANUATU

BANKING (REPEAL) ACT
NO. 18 OF 2002

An Act to repeal the Banking Act [CAP 63].

Be it enacted by the President and Parliament as follows-

1. Repeal of Act
   

The Banking Act [CAP 63] is repealed.

2. Commencement
   

This Act commences on 1 January 2003.

Explanatory Note

The purpose of this Bill is to repeal the Banking Act [CAP 63]. It is no longer necessary because of the passage of new legislation that will provide for the supervision of international (offshore) banks and other exempt financial institutions.
