Customs (Penalty Notice) Regulation

CUSTOMS (PENALTY NOTICE) REGULATION


Order 32 of 2003


1. Interpretation
In this Regulation, “Act” means the Customs Act [Cap. 257].


2. Prescribed amounts for penalty notices
For the purpose of section 102(2) of the Act, the prescribed amount in respect of an offence committed under a section of the Act listed in Column 2 of the Table is:


(a) the amount set out in Column 3 of that Table for a first offence under such section; and


(b) the amount set out in Column 4 of that Table for a second or subsequent offence under such section.

3. Form of penalty notice
For the purposes of section 102 of the Act, a penalty notice is to be in the form set out in the Schedule.

You can elect to pay the penalty set out below in Column 2 or Column 3 (whichever applies) or have the alleged offence/s decided by a court.
