CATTLE (EXPORT)


To restrict the export of cattle from Vanuatu.


1. Interpretation


In this Act, "Minister" means the Minister responsible for agriculture and livestock.


2. Consent to export cattle, meat and meat products


No person may export live cattle, meat or meat products from Vanuatu without having first obtained the written consent of the Minister to such export.


3. Offence and penalty


Any person who exports live cattle, meat or meat products without the written consent of the Minister shall be liable to a fine not exceeding VT 20,000 in respect of each animal exported.


4. Enforcement


The principal veterinary officer and officers of the livestock service shall be charged with the enforcement of this Act.


5. Regulations


The Minister may by order make regulations for the better implementation of the Act.
