Constitution of Tuvalu - Policy Direction to the Public Service Commission

POLICY DIRECTION TO THE PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION

GOVERNMENTOF TUVALU CONSTITUTION OF TUVALU (CAP. 1)


Commencement [6th April 2000]


IN EXERCISE of the power conferred by section 150 of the Constitution of Tuvalu, and in accordance with the decision taken by the Cabinet at its meeting held on 6th April, 2000, the Cabinet hereby issues the following policy direction to the Public Service Commission: —


"That senior trained department personnel (in the closed or technical category of the Public Service) who have just had specialised training, must continue to remain in their position in the respective departments for a period of at least two years after their specialised training before they can be considered for transfer or appointment to fill up any vacancy in the senior administrative positions in the common cadre category."


The above policy direction shall be deemed to have come into effect as from 6th April, 2000.
