DISTRICT AND TOWN OFFICERS (ELECTION) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 1995

DISTRICT AND TOWN OFFICERS ACT


[16th March 1995]


IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 6(4) of the District and Town Officers Act (Cap.43), the Prime Minister, with the approval of Cabinet, makes the following Regulations:


1.


(1). These Regulations may be cited as the District and Town Officers (Election) (Amendment) Regulations 1995.


(2). The District and Town Officers (Election) Regulations is in these Regulations referred to as the Principal Regulations.


2. Regulation 8 of the Principal Regulations is amended-


(i). by deleting the symbol 'X' and substituting therefor the symbol ‘√’;


(ii). by adding the following immediately at the end thereof:


"Provided that no ballot paper shall be rejected as invalid if it clearly indicates the candidate for whom the elector intended to vote, whether that indication is made in the manner prescribed by this regulation or otherwise".
