AN ACT

entitled

Vice-Ministers- (Consequential Amendments) Act 1994,

Being an Act to amend various Acts in consequence of the enactment of the Vice-Ministers Act 1994,

MADE by the National Parliament.

PART I. - AMENDMENT TO OFFICIAL PERSONAL STAFF ACT (CHAPTER 383).

1. PERSONS ENTITLED TO OFFICIAL PERSONAL STAFF (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 1).

Section 1(g) of the Official Personal Staff Act (Chapter 383) is repealed and is replaced with the following:-

"(g) a Vice-Minister appointed under the Vice-Ministers Act 1994.".

PART II. - AMENDMENT TO PARLIAMENTARY MEMBERS' PERSONAL STAFF ACT 1988.

2. INTERPRETATION (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 1).

Section 1 of the Parliamentary Members' Personal Staff Act 1988 is amended in the definition of "Member of Parliament" by repealing the words and figures "and Parliamentary Secretaries appointed under the Parliamentary Secretaries Act 1990" and replacing them with the following:-

"and Vice-Ministers appointed under the Vice-Ministers Act 1994;".

PART III. - AMENDMENTS TO SALARIES AND REMUNERATION COMMISSION ACT 1988.

3. INTERPRETATION (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 1).

Section 1 of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission Act 1988 is amended -

(a) by repealing the definition of "Parliamentary Secretaries"; and
(b) by adding the following new definition:-

• "'Vice-Ministers' means the Vice-Ministers appointed under the Vice-Ministers Act 1994.".

4. ALLOWANCES FOR PRIME MINISTER, ETC., (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 11).

Section 11(1)(ga) of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission Act 1988 is amended by repealing the words "Parliamentary Secretaries" and replacing them with the following:-

"Vice-Ministers;".
