AN ACT

entitled

Rationalisation of the Public Service (Budget Provisions) (Amendment) Act 2000,

Being an Act to amend the Rationalisation of the Public Service (Budget Provisions) Act 1995 and to validate certain applications of that Act,

MADE by the National Parliament to be deemed to have come into operation on 1 July 1997.

1. AMENDMENT OF SCHEDULE.

The Schedule to the Principal Act is amended by repealing the following:-

"Section 4(1) - Redundancy Period

• 1 April 1995 to 30 June 1997 (inclusive)"J/

and replacing it with the following:-

"Section 4(1) - Redundancy Period

• 1 April 1995 to 31 December 2002".

2. VALIDATION.

Any applications of the provisions of the Principal Act, insofar as relating to rates of tax on redundancy payments, applied, prior to the passing of this Act (Rationalisation of the Public Service (Budget Provisions) (Amendment) Act 2000), in respect of redundancies occurring after 30 June 1997, are, to the extent necessary, hereby validated.
