Functions of the Central Agencies Co-ordination Committee (Repeal and replacement of Section 25).

"25. FUNCTIONS OF THE CENTRAL AGENCIES CO-ORDINATION COMMITTEE."

AN ACT

entitled

Prime Minister and National Executive Council (Amendment) Act 2013,

Being an Act to amend the Prime Minister and National Executive Council Act 2002,

MADE by the National Parliament.

FUNCTIONS OF THE CENTRAL AGENCIES CO-ORDINATION COMMITTEE (REPEAL AND REPLACEMENT OF SECTION 25).

Section 25 of the Principal Act is repealed and replaced with the following:

"25. FUNCTIONS OF THE CENTRAL AGENCIES CO-ORDINATION COMMITTEE.

The functions of the Central Agencies Co-ordination Committee are –

(a) to assist the Prime Minister, the National Executive Council, and any committees established by the National Executive Council in carrying out their respective functions by reviewing and making recommendations on any matters requiring their attention, including submissions to the National Executive Council; and

(b) to ensure that decisions made by the National Executive Council are implemented and to report to the National Executive Council on the progress of implementation; and

(c) to monitor implementation and co-ordinate reporting on progress towards achievement of National Development Plans and Programs, including those at sectoral levels; and

(d) to co-ordinate finalisation of the National Budget, including the Public Investment Program, and reporting to the National Executive Council on the progress towards achievement of government priorities through the implementation of the National Budget; and

(e) to co-ordinate development of optimal governance and institutional arrangements across all sectors of society to achieve government's objectives, particularly in relation to the delivery of services to the community; and

(f) to review and report on the performance and management of individual Departments and agencies of Government including Provinces, and review annual reports of departments and public bodies and coordinate their submissions to the National Executive Council; and

(g) to receive advice and reports from the lead agencies primarily responsible for management of industrial relations and of claims and legal proceedings respectively, and coordinate the State's policy settings and strategies in relation to them; and

(h) to undertake investigations and produce reports on any matters required of it by the Prime Minister, the National Executive Council or any committee established by the National Executive Council; and

(i) to undertake negotiations with other parties on matters falling within its functions; and

(j) to perform such other functions or tasks as are conferred on it by any other law or as are referred to it by the Prime Minister, the National Executive Council or any committee established by the National Executive Council.".
