An Act

entitled

Police (Amendment) Act 2014,

Being an Act to amend the Police Act 1998,

MADE by the National Parliament to come into operation in accordance with a notice in the National Gazette by the Head of State, acting with, and in accordance with, the advice of the Minister.

1. INTERPRETATION (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 2).

Section 2 of the Principal Act is amended by repealing the definition of "disciplinary officers" and replacing it with the following:

"disciplinary officer means -

(a) the Commissioner; or

(b) a commissioned officer appointed under Section 19 to act as a disciplinary officer; or

(c) in relation to a disciplinary offence dealt with under Division IV.1, a person deemed under Subsection 19(1A) to be a disciplinary officer for the purposes of that Division;".

2. DISCIPLINARY OFFICERS (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 19).

Section 19 of the Principal Act is amended by inserting a new subsection after Subsection (1) as follows:

"(1A) The Chief Executive Officer of a District Development Authority is deemed to be a disciplinary officer for the purposes of Division IV.1 in relation to a minor offence committed within the district.".
