3. By-laws (Amendment of Section 18).

AN ACT

entitled

Divine Word Institute (Amendment) At 1994,

Being an Act to amend the Divine Word Institute Act (Chapter 1045),

MADE by the National Parliament.

1. FUNCTIONS OF THE INSTITUTE (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 4).

Section 4(c) of the Principal Act is repealed and is replaced with the following:-

"(c) subject to the By-laws, to award and confer degrees, diplomas, certificates and other academic honours;".

2. REPEAL AND REPLACEMENT OF SECTION 14.

Section 14 of the Principal Act is repealed and is replaced with the following:-

"14. GRANT OF DEGREE, DIPLOMA, CERTIFICATES, ETC.,
(1) Subject to the By-laws, the Board of Trustees may, after examination, confer any degree, diploma or certificate in respect of any course of study determined by the Board.
"(2) All degrees, diplomas and certificates conferred by the Institute shall be evidenced in writing under the common seal of the Institute and signed by the Chairman and the President of the Institute.".

3. BY-LAWS (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 18).

Section 18(1)(b) of the Principal Act is repealed and is replaced with the following:-

"(b) the granting of degrees, diplomas, certificates and honours;".
