ARRANGEMENT OF SECTIONS.

1. False statements required to be under Oath or Solemn Declaration (Amendment of Section 196).
2. Escape by Prisoner (Amendment of Section 139).
3. Unnatural Offences (Amendment of Section 210).
4. Attempts to abuse girls under 10 (Amendment of Section 215).
5. Obtaining goods or credit by false pretence or wilfully false promise (Amendment of Section 404).
6. Obtaining execution of valuable security by false pretence or wilfully false promise (Amendment of Section 405).
7. Conspiracy to defraud (Amendment of Section 407).
8. Directors and Officers of corporations fraudulently appropriating property, keeping fraudulent accounts or falsifying books or accounts (Amendment of Section 414).
9. False statements by officials of companies (Amendment of Section 415).
10. Falsification of registers (Amendment of Section 473).


AN ACT

entitled

Criminal Code (Amendment) Act 1993,

Being an Act to amend the Criminal Code (Chapter 262),

MADE by the National Parliament.

  1. FALSE STATEMENTS REQUIRED TO BE UNDER OATH OR SOLEMN DECLARATION (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 196).

Section 196(3) of the Criminal Code is repealed.

  1. ESCAPE BY PRISONER (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 139).

Section 139 of the Criminal Code is amended by repealing the penalty clause and replacing it with the following: -

"Penalty: A term of imprisonment of not less than five years.".
  1. UNNATURAL OFFENCES (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 210).

Section 210(3) of the Criminal Code is repealed.

  1. ATTEMPTS TO ABUSE GIRLS UNDER 10 (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 215).

Section 215(2) of the Criminal Code is repealed.

  1. OBTAINING GOODS OR CREDIT BY FALSE PRETENCE OR WILFULLY FALSE PROMISE (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 404).

Section 404(4) of the Criminal Code is repealed.

  1. OBTAINING EXECUTION OF VALUABLE SECURITY BY FALSE PRETENCE OR WILFULLY FALSE PROMISE (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 405).

Section 405(2) of the Criminal Code is repealed.

  1. CONSPIRACY TO DEFRAUD (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 407).

Section 407(2) of the Criminal Code is repealed.

  1. DIRECTORS AND OFFICERS OF CORPORATIONS FRAUDULENTLY APPROPRIATING PROPERTY, KEEPING FRAUDULENT ACCOUNTS OR FALSIFYING BOOKS OR ACCOUNTS (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 414).

Section 414(2) of the Criminal Code is repealed.

  1. FALSE STATEMENTS BY OFFICIALS OF COMPANIES (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 415).

Section 415(2) of the Criminal Code is repealed.

  1. FALSIFICATION OF REGISTERS (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 473).

Section 473(2) of the Criminal Code is repealed.
