AN ACT

entitled

Constitutional and Law Reform Commission (Amendment) Act 2009.

Being an Act to amend the Constitutional and Law Reform Commission Act 2004 and for related purposes,

MADE by the National Parliament.

1. INTERPRETATION (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 1).

Section 1 of the Principal Act is amended by inserting after the definition of "Secretary", the following:–

""Speaker" means the Speaker of the National Parliament;".

2. FUNCTIONS OF THE COMMISSION (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 12).

Section 12 of the Principal Act is amended in –

(a) Subsection (1) by adding after the words "or advice" the following:–

"or the Speaker, on a resolution of the Parliament"; and

(b) Subsection (2), by adding after the words "or otherwise", the following:–

"or the Speaker, on a resolution of the Parliament"; and

(c) Subsection (3) by adding after the words "the Minister", the following:-

"or the Speaker".

3. REPORTS (AMENDMNT OF SECTION 15).

Section 15 of the Principal Act is amended -

(a) in Subsection (1) by adding after the words "on advice" the following:–

"or the Speaker"; and

(b) in Subsection (2)(a) by adding after the words "the Minister", the following:–

"or the Speaker".
