Enacted by the Parliament of Nauru as follows:

1 Short title

This Act may be cited as the Supreme Court (Amendment) Act 2020.

2 Commencement

This Act commences on certification of the Speaker.

3 Amendment of the Supreme Court Act 2018

The Supreme Court Act 2018 is amended by the provisions of this Act.

4 Amendment of Section 10

Section 10 (1) is deleted and substituted as follows:

‘(1) Subject to subsection (2), the Chief Justice and the Judges of the Supreme Court continue to hold office until:

(a) resignation from that office;

(b) retirement;

(c) removal from that office; or

(d) attaining the age of 70 years.’
