Enacted by the Parliament of Nauru as follows:

1 Short title

This Act may be cited as the Public Finance (Control and Management) (Amendment) Act 2020.

2 Commencement

This Act commences on certification by the Speaker.

3 Amendment of the Public Finance (Control and Management) Act 1997

The Public Finance (Control and Management) Act 1997 is amended by the provisions of this Act.

4 Amendment of Section 2

Section 2 is amended as follows:

(a) in subsection (1), by inserting the following term and its definition in alphabetical order:

‘Commissioner of Police’ means the Commissioner of Police appointed under the Nauru Police Force Act 1972; and

(b) in subsection (2), by deleting the words ‘Secretary for Justice’ where it appears and substituting with the words ‘Commissioner of Police’.
