§601. Short title.


This Act may be cited as the 'Interpretation (Title of the Republic) Act 1984'. [P.L. 1984-18, §1.]


§602. Use of the expression 'the Republic'.


(1) In accordance with a proclamation made by the President on March 12, 1982, that the official name of the nation is 'The Republic of the Marshall Islands':



(2) Subsection (1) of this Section does not apply in relation to references to 'the Council of Iroij of the Marshall Islands' or 'the Nitijela of the Marshall Islands'. [P.L 1984-18, §.2.]
