AN ACT

TO AMEND THE TERTIARY SCHOLARSHIP AND LOANS DECREE 2014

ENACTED by the Parliament of the Republic of Fiji—

Short title and commencement

1.— (1) This Act may be cited as the Tertiary Scholarship and Loans (Amendment) Act 2014 and shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.

(2) The Tertiary Scholarship and Loans Decree 2014 shall be referred to as the "Decree".

Section 2 amended

2. Section 2 of the Decree is amended in the definition of "Minister" by deleting "Prime Minister" and substituting with "Minister responsible for Education".

Section 4 amended

3. Section 4 of the Decree is amended—

(a) in paragraph (b) by inserting “ responsible” after “ Permanent Secretary”; and

(b) by deleting paragraphs (c), (d) and (e), and substituting with the following new paragraph—

"(c) 3 other members".

Schedule 1 amended

4. Schedule 1 to the Decree is amended by inserting the following new paragraph after paragraph 7 —

"8. Technical Colleges approved by the Minister"

Passed by the Parliament of the Republic of Fiji this 11th day of December 2014.
