AN ACT

TO AMEND THE HEALTH AND SAFETY AT WORK ACT, 1996

ENACTED by the Parliament of Fiji:-

Short title

1.-(1) This Act may be cited as the Health and Safety at Work (Amendment) Act, 1996.

Commencement

2. This Act shall come into force on the day it is published in the Fiji Republic Gazette.

Section "2" repealed and replaced

3. Section "2" of the Health and Safety at Work Act, 1996 is repealed and replaced with the following:

"Commencement

2.-(1) This Act shall come into force on a date or dates appointed by the Minister and published in the Fiji Republic Gazette.

(2) The Minister may by one or more notices appoint different dates for the coming into force of different provisions of the Act."

Passed by the House of Representatives this Twelfth day of September, in the year of our Lord One Thousand, Nine Hundred and Ninety-Six.

Passed by the Senate this Third day of October, in the year of our Lord One Thousand, Nine Hundred and Ninety-Six.
