AN ACT

TO AMEND THE EXCISE ACT, 1986

ENACTED by the Parliament of Fiji-

Short title

1. This Act may be cited as the Excise (Amendment) Act, 1997.

Interpretation

2. In this Act, the Excise Act, 1986, is referred to as the "Principal Act".

Part 1 of Schedule 2 amended

3. Part 1 of Schedule 2 to the Principal Act is amended by-

(a) substituting the figures and expression "92.42 cents" for the figures and expression "65.42 cents" in column 3 of Item No. 1.01;

(b) substituting the figures and expression "59.97 cents" for the figures and expression "50.97 cents" in column 3 of Item No. 1.02;

(c) substituting the figures and expression "92.42 cents" for the figures and expression "65.42 cents" and the figures and expression "59.97 cents" for the figures and expression "50.97 cents" in column 3 of Item No. 1.03;

(d) substituting the symbol and figures "$56.58" for the symbol and figures "$46.58" in column 3 of Item No. 2.01;

(e) substituting the symbol and figures "$33.23" for the symbol and figures "$23.23" in column 3 of Item No. 2.02;

(f) substituting the symbol and figures "$56.58" for the symbol and figures "$46.58" and the symbol and figures "$33.23" for the symbol and figures "$23.23" in column 3 of Item No. 2.03;

(g) substituting the symbol and figures "$1.10" for the figures and expression "95 cents" in column 3 of Item No. 3.00;

(h) substituting the symbol and figures "$34.14" for the symbol and figures "$30.64" in column 3 of Item No. 4.01;

(i) substituting the symbol and figures "$19.50" for the symbol and figures "$17.50" in column 3 of Item No. 4.03; and

(j) substituting the symbol and figures "$34.14" for the symbol and figures "$30.64" in column 3 of Item No. 4.04".
