CORRECTIONS SERVICE (AMENDMENT) DECREE 2012
(DECREE NO. 18 of 2012)

IN exercise of the powers vested in me as President of the Republic of Fiji and Commander in Chief of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces by virtue of the Executive Authority of Fiji Decree 2009, I hereby make the following Decree -

TO AMEND THE CORRECTIONS SERVICE ACT 2006

Short title and commencement

1. This Decree may be cited as the Corrections Service (Amendment) Decree 2012, and shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.

New Section inserted

2. The Corrections Service Act 2006 is amended by inserting the following new section after section 49 -

"Authorisation for early release

49A. The Minister may, upon the recommendation of the Parole Board, direct that a prisoner be released on such terms and conditions as the Minister may think fit."
