DECREE NO. 25


1988 SUPPLEMENTARY APPROPRIATION DECREE (NO. 1) OF 1988


IN exercise of the powers vested in me as President and Commander-in-Chief of the Republic of Fiji, I pursuant to subsection (3) of section 4 of the Finance Decree 1988, hereby make the following decree -


Short title


1. This Decree may be cited as the 1988 Supplementary Appropriation Decree (No. 1) of 1988.


Supplementary Appropriation of $10.0 million


2. There shall be issued from the Consolidated Fund, and other funds of the Republic of Fiji and applied to the service of the year ending the thirty first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and eighty eight, any sum or sums not exceeding the sum of ten million dollars for defraying the charges of the Government of the Republic of Fiji for such period, in addition to the sums previously appropriated for that year. The said amount shall be appropriated as set out in the Schedule.


Minister of Finance to authorise issue


3. The Minister of Finance shall, by warrant under his hand, authorise the issue of such sums as have been appropriated by this Decree.

1988 SUPPLEMENTARY APPROPRIATION DECREE (NO.1) OF 1988


OBJECTS AND REASONS


This Decree is the first Supplementary Appropriation Decree presented this year to make provision for expenditure for the year 1988 additional to that already approved by the original appropriation decree. This is loan money for the Government’s road upgrading programme and the sum is required for the purchase of plant and equipment and vehicles.


The subject matter of this Decree comes within the sphere of responsibility of the Minister of Finance.
